VNUE today announced that the company had released an updated version of its Set.fm “instant live” concert distribution app to the Apple App Store.
Set.fm allows fans to instantly download exclusive audio content from live shows to their mobile devices which have been recorded by VNUE, including its licensee DiscLive, or by artists who utilize the Set.fm Studio app to make their content available on the platform. This audio may then be played via the app on the mobile device, or it may be added into the user’s library.
VNUE announced today that it has signed its first radio monitoring agreement utilizing its patent-pending Soundstr technology, with Radio Operations International. The deal will utilize the tech to provide accurate music play reporting to reduce licensing costs to radio stations, and also to increase transparency to all stakeholders.
VNUE’s Soundstr is an innovative hardware and cloud computing solution that will not only help bars, restaurants and venues to reduce licensing costs, but also radio stations, many of whom pay far more than their fair share for blanket music licenses.
VNUE will be recording the upcoming West Coast run from veteran American hard rockers King’s X and making the shows available for download instantly via VNUE’s set.fm app, web site, and at each show with all new Limited Edition VIP laminates. The dates being recorded begin April 19 in Scottsdale, Arizona and run through April 29 in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
“King’s X has been a special band to me since their debut, Out Of The Silent Planet, and the incredibly unique experience of their live show is a major part of that,” Jeff Zakim, VP of Business Development & Content Curation for VNUE, said. “Between the amazing audience participation, the inventiveness of their songs and the sheer energy exuded from the stage, a King’s X live show is truly something special, and I can say with confidence that each attendee of these upcoming shows will want to take it home with them.”
VNUE announced today that it raised more than $10,000 for the Sidewalk Angels Foundation from its instant live recordings of international superstar and Grammy-winner Rob Thomas‘ three sold-out January shows at the Borgata Casino Music Box in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
This was the seventh consecutive year that Thomas held the Music Box shows fully benefiting Sidewalk Angels, and the recording of each show were made available immediately after they finished via VNUE’s set.fm as well as partner PledgeMusic.com. The intimate acoustic shows, which Thomas has described as “singer-songwriter storyteller events,” featured him performing a range of material from both Matchbox Twenty and his critically-acclaimed solo albums, as well as other material.
VNUE will be recording select dates from the upcoming U.S. tour from legendary rockers Patty Smyth and Scandal – and making them available for download instantly via VNUE’s set.fm mobile content delivery app and website. Fans will also be able to pre-purchase a “Live Club” collectible VIP laminate which will allow them to collect and download any two shows on this tour.
The shows being recorded begin April 26 in Peekskill, New York, and continue through multiple shows on her spring and summer tour.
