TuneGO today announced that Henry Sun, founder of Reach China, has been named President of its new division, TuneGO China. Sun will be responsible for overseeing TuneGO China’s regional operations and procuring and managing new strategic partnerships that include music distribution channels and institutional investors. He will report directly to TuneGO Inc.’s co-founder and CEO, John Kohl.
TuneGO has launched its exclusive portal to help the music industry discover the next superstar and hit single. The portal, which is available by invite only and currently in use by a select group of TuneGO partners, allows record labels, music supervisors, talent agents and playlist curators to streamline and simplify the discovery of new talent and content while at the same time keeping track of artists and music on their existing roster.
“The music industry asked for a way to efficiently source new talent, curate new content and streamline the discovery process, and we delivered. The portal aggregates a wide variety of data points and can be customized with an array of criteria for their unique needs,” said John Kohl, co-founder and CEO, TuneGO. “In the music industry today, it is difficult to know which new artists to back and which new content to push; our portal takes the guessing out of this equation as the data we collect helps to quantify a number of important factors that, in turn, can help music industry decision-makers to determine the next potential superstar or hit single.”
TuneGO has announced a partnership with Priority Records. The label, responsible for launching the careers of Eazy-E, N.W.A., Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and many others, will provide distribution for TuneGO content in the United States and its parent company, Universal Music Group will handle the global market.
“This is exactly what we have planned from the beginning for TuneGO and TuneGO Music Group,” John Kohl, co-founder and CEO, TuneGO, said.
TuneGO, a music platform that connects independent artists with a global community of music fans and industry professionals, is now offering a song review service. TuneGO Song Reviews are available in three packages: Gold, Platinum and Diamond, and offer artists insight from up to 200 music fans, and options for assessments on where a song ranks in a music genre, its market potential and likelihood of chart success. During the month of March only, the Diamond song review, which includes a comparison to 100,000 major label releases in the song’s genre, comes with a free Muzen radio ($90 value), a retro radio and Bluetooth speaker that won the 2017 CES Innovation Award.
“Writing and producing music is a very personal endeavor and many artists are unsure as to the quality and the universal appeal of their work. Having access to song reviews is an invaluable tool for a musician as it gives them guidance in what’s working or what’s not so they can continue to perfect their song,” said John Kohl, co-founder and CEO of TuneGO. “In the past, this kind of feedback has only been available to artists working with big record labels. We knew offering this service direct to artists could make their journey easier. That is what we’re all about: finding ways to level the playing field for artists and provide new pathways to success.”
